“FSRU Toscana” has left Dubai and is navigating to Italy

On June 2nd 2013 the Terminal “FSRU Toscana” of OLT Offshore LNG Toscana sailed from the Drydocks World shipyard of Dubai. Towed by two tugboats, it is sailing toward Italy, where the arrival is estimated for mid-July. The news of the sail away has been issued after the Terminal passed the high-risk piracy area, in order to safeguard the crew.

Once arrived in Livorno, the Terminal will be connected to the six anchors already installed at the site, then to the underwater pipeline for the transport of the regasified gas – already completed by Snam Rete Gas. Finally, it will follow a phase of onboard testing with LNG. The time required for testing activities is estimated to be about three months. The first supply of gas within the National Distribution Network is scheduled for the end of August, at the end of the commissioning phase, while the starting of commercial operations is planned within the last quarter of the year.
