Emissions in atmosphere

The main sources of emissions in atmosphere of the Terminal are the exhaust fumes of the two boilers, which are necessary for the self-sustainment generator of the Terminal. The fuel used during the regular operation is natural gas (NG), which is considered one of the less polluting substances.

Furthermore, to better monitor the polluting substances, on board the Terminal there is an Emission Monitoring System (SME) that continuously detects the emissions (NOx, TOC, CO, CO2, dust like PM) in each of the two boiler’s tubes present on board.
